WORKAWAY UNDER THE LINDEN TREE

We are still alive… Just not enough time for blogging, emailing etc.

We are enjoying a very good harvest of herbs and using the recent days of cold weather /Polish Summer…./ for preparing different tisane. Making jams, sour cucumbers, St. John’s wort and calendula oil… its on and on every day. The attic is the main workshop for our home made organic herbal teas and spices, its full of Yarrow, Salvia, Hyssop, Mint, Nettle, Linden flowers, Raspberry leaf, Lemon balm, Savory, Tarragon, Majoram and Thyme…

Linden blossom syrup is the hit of the Summer. Everyone loves fresh picked raspberries or pancakes with it on the top! Only the Zuccini is a problem – they grow so big and so quick. Any idea what to do with them??? Anything nice for Winter, but without vinager???

Last week we had to say good bye to our wonderful workawayer – Kenzie from USA. She was great, very easy to live with and we hope she will come back, miss her very much. Off she went for more adventures in east Europe!

Now we are hosts for Jimmy from Turkey, who loves very much Polish beer and has plenty of energy. A couple from Spain should arrive in the beginning of August. Hope the good weather and sunshine will be back soon!

  1. Courgette bigos or stuffed courgettes; zucchini is too American for me 🙂 We use meat, but I’m sure you can come up with an alternative 🙂 And don’t forget the jam!
